Test and tag for warehouses and industrial sites
Test and Tag for Warehouses & Industrial Sites in Sydney
Warehouses, factories and industrial facilities work their equipment hard, so portable electrical gear is tested and tagged every 6 months under AS/NZS 3760:2022 — more often than an office, because dust, vibration, moving loads and heavy use wear leads and tools faster. Rapid Test & Tag services Sydney industrial sites around your shifts, handles high item counts efficiently, and provides same-day digital records for your safety system and audits.
What gets tested on an industrial site
- ✓Power tools and bench equipment — drills, grinders, saws, compressors and their leads.
- ✓Battery and forklift chargers — and the leads that take a beating on a warehouse floor.
- ✓Three-phase equipment and leads — tested as part of the same visit.
- ✓Packing and dispatch equipment — heat sealers, strapping tools, label printers, scanners.
- ✓Extension leads and power boards — the highest-failure items in any industrial setting (earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity checks).
- ✓Break-room and site-office appliances.
Why industrial sites are 6-monthly (and not quarterly)
It's worth being clear on the difference, because it's often confused. An ongoing warehouse or factory is a general workplace under AS/NZS 3760:2022, tested on a roughly 6-month cycle. A construction or demolition site is different — it's tested every 3 months under AS/NZS 3012 with the quarterly colour-tag system. If your operation is a running facility, 6-monthly is the usual cycle; if you run active construction works, see our construction site service.
Why industrial sites test and tag
A warehouse or manufacturer (a PCBU) has a work-health-and-safety duty to manage electrical risk, and testing to AS/NZS 3760:2022 is the recognised way to do it. On top of that, head contractors, clients and insurers frequently require current records before contractors or equipment are allowed on site, and safety audits expect them. RCDs on site should be tested too — see test and tag vs RCD testing.
Scheduled around your operation
We work around shifts and dispatch windows, test efficiently across the floor, and provide same-day digital records and an asset register that drop straight into your safety management system or a client audit. Ongoing 6-monthly programs keep you current without you having to track it. Work is carried out under licence TTT69067, fully insured.
What it costs
Our minimum is $120 + GST, which covers your first 30 items, with no call-out fee. Larger sites and ongoing programs are quoted per item; see our pricing page, or send your site location and rough item count for a fast quote.
